Boulder Spanish Academy Mission

Boulder Spanish Academy

The city of Boulder, Colorado, has an abundance of Spanish culture and its growing diverse population shows that this city will continue to cater to those of Hispanic and Latino descent. Founded by the Anglo-Saxons, today Hispanics and Latinos make up nearly half of the population. There were 113,605 residents reported and of those, 68,527 were reported to be of this descent. From that number, 58, 824 stated they speak the Spanish language in their homes.

Boulder celebrates this heritage with events like Latin poetry festivals and Hispanic appreciation months at some of the city’s schools. Local facilities also appreciate this culture. For example, area libraries offer access to various Web sites relating to Latino and Hispanic culture, using the Andanzas al Web Latino program. The Boulder Valley School District also offers Latin Parent School Involvement Program to help these families to make these families for more welcome within the schools.

With Boulder’s cultural diversity on the rise, as well as its richness of Hispanic and Latino traditions and events, it helps to learn the Spanish language.
